Bubba Wallace issues apology to defending champion Joey Logano for the on track run-in at Darlington

Bubba Wallace apologized to Team Penske driver Joey Logano and AJ Allmendinger for his on track run-ins with them during Sunday Cook Out Southern 500.

Wallace was involved in an incident with Allmendinger earlier in the race, The 23Xi Racing driver later in the race, made contact with Joey Logano, who was already having a complicated race.

The 29-y-o made the NASCAR Playoffs for the first time in his career thanks to a P12 finish in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

Speaking after the race, Wallace pointed out that he wasn’t satisfied with how the race panned out for him, and he further went on to apologize to Joey Logano and AJ Allmendinger.

“I’m not happy with myself—apologies to Joey (Logano) and apologies to AJ (Allmendinger).” – He said

“I think the important thing to learn here is to not make enemies race one when you’re in the Playoffs because they make it hell, so I deserve everything I got throughout the night. Just did not execute. I’ve got to be better,” Bubba added.

During an interview post-race with Bob Pockrass Wallace said felt he let his team down at Darlington.

“Let the team down,” Wallace said to Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports. “I just made silly mistakes, dumb mistakes to the 22 and 16 and they made it hell, rightfully so. Apologies to them.

Just did not execute as a driver today and felt really good going into the race. But got some regrouping to do and some things to figure out. Going to Kansas gotta regroup and move forward.”
