Stewart-Haas Racing have finally found their replacement for the outgoing Kevin Harvick for the 2024 Cup Series season.

The Tony Stewart co-owned team is looking to make a major overhaul for the next season as their long-time driver Harvick is set to retire from full-time Cup racing at the end of the 2023 Cup Series season. The 2014 Cup champion will join the FOX booth as a NASCAR analyst in 2024.

However, Harvick might not be the only driver that is departing from the team after this season. Aric Almirola could possibly retire after having already decided to do so in 2022 but backtracked on his decision and continued his Cup career.

Ryan Preece signed a one-year deal for the 2023 season and it is still not clear if the organization wants to keep him for the next season. That leaves them with only Chase Briscoe as the certain driver going into the 2024 Cup Series season.

However, the replacement for Harvick is the major decision to take for SHR for now and it seems that they are close to finding a replacement for the veteran driver. The Athletic reported that Josh Berry, the JR Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, is close to finalizing a contract with SHR for a full time driving position.

The 32-year-old driver has already had some Cup experience this season. He has served as a replacement driver for Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman when the two drivers had their respective injuries this season.
