Danica Patrick replacement in the Fox broadcast booth confirmed for Atlanta

Fox has been using different former NASCAR drivers in the broadcast booth alongside full-time lead announcer Mike Joy and analyst Clint Bowyer.

They have been doing this since Jeff Gordon left his role after six seasons. And one of the former drivers that they have called upon is Danica Patrick. However, she cannot take up the role for the upcoming Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

“What a crock of sh*t” – Fans weigh in on Denny Hamlin’s 25 driver points deduction

So, in her place, Fox decided to call Tony Stewart to be the guest analyst for the race. He has already done so, three times this season, for the Busch Light Clash preseason exhibition race at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as well as the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway and the Pala Casino 400 at Auto Club Speedway. He was also in the booth for three races last season, for the Clash, the Daytona 500, and the race at Circuit of the Americas.

Patrick has been in the booth twice this season, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway.

Fox is set to continue the trend of filling in the third position with different former drivers for this season. However, Kevin Harvick will join the booth full-time from next season, as he is set to retire from Cup racing at the end of the 2023 season.

  1. If Tony can’t do it all the time, then don’t have a third person. Just keep her annoying voice out of the booth.

    1. There’s too much talking to begin with!! Why not watch some of the old broadcasts for comparison. They weren’t talking every second of the entire race!! It’s gotten ridiculous. We end up hearing three versions of the same thing when it was sufficient with just one. “Crank it up” more and quit talking! Oh, and if they’re “just tuning in” to the last ten laps, we don’t want to hear another synopsis! They can read about it on their own time!
We tuned in to watch racing!! Not talking. And…caution laps are NOT racing. Stop counting them!! Shake up the team play books with that one! Bet it doesn’t take eight laps for a spinout anymore!! Go to a local track race. Compare that to a broadcast of the “elite” class. Cameras only focus on a small percentage of the field. You can’t get a sense of the sport from such a narrow perspective.

How rude these people are about Danica. Shes smart and has knowledge of these tracks.. oh wait she best 1/2 the field each week she raced. danica didnt talk as loud as C Bower..who does… so these bozo.. have no idea of her abilities.. Try he rPod cast.. before making stupid remark.

It’s just a bunch of jealous guys that can’t stand it that she’s better than they are
I just wish she race trucks or Xfinity

  3. Boy big time haters on Danica. I thought she did ok. Very knowledgeable about the sport. I agree some old guys just can’t handle a female in NASCAR!!
