Kyle Busch, who only joined RCR in the offseason after 15 years spell with Joe Gibbs Racing, cruised to victory on Sunday at Auto Club Speedway in his second points race with Richard Chlildress Racing.
Speculation in the air is quoted Busch saying he rejected Joe Gibbs’s deal offered to extend his contract.
The monetary struggle due to the departure of Busch’s long-time primary sponsor, M&M, spurred the move to RCR.

Busch’s former JGR teammate Denny Hamlin during his podcast ‘Action Detrimental’ talked about the recent revelations surrounding the 37-y-o exit.
Hamlin indicated that Busch had frankly demanded a sum that could have ended Joe Gibbs Racing operation in order for a contract extension.
” … fans are having a field day with the JGR Twitter right now. ‘See, we told you.’ People have to understand Joe Gibbs wanted to sign Kyle Busch. They really tried, and they gave him a very, very good offer, but he did not want to take it. Said Hamlin
” I see them all dragging JGR, and even if I’m unbiased here, this was a tough situation. It was a situation where they wanted him back. That company would cease to exist if they had to pay Kyle what he was demanding. Especially after losing Mars. It would be impossible.”
Busch has now won a Cup Series race for 19 successive seasons, setting a new NASCAR record., the win was also the 61st in Busch’s Cup career, ranking ninth on the all-time list for Cup Series victories.
