The 65th annual great American race Daytona 500 will take place on Feb. 19, 2023 with a packed week of on-track action leading up to the big weekend in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Following Busch Light Clash that was held at The Los Angeles Coliseum for the second successive year NASCAR will return to the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway for the sport greatest race of the season.

The full Cup Series starting lineup is set to be decided by the Bluegreen Vacations Duels on Thursday, February 16 (Fox Sports 1, 7:00 p.m. ET).

2023 could be a very climactic season for Hamlin. He’s currently in the final year of his contract with Joe Gibbs Racing and FedEx is also in its final season as his primary sponsor.

On Thursday Denny Hamlin joined the NASCAR RaceHub to reveal his special paint scheme for Daytona celebrating 50 years of FedEx.

The 42-y-o, who drives for Joe Gibbs Racing and also co-owns 23XI Racing with Michael Jordan is an outspoken individual and frequently brutally honest.

Hamlin FedEx paint scheme received some unpleasing reactions from NASCAR fans calling it the “Ugliest scheme he’s (Hamlin) run”.

NASCAR fans did not fancy Denny’s new scheme. 

Daytona will host the season openers of the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity, Truck and ARCA Menards.

Saturday, February 18

10:30 – 11:20 a.m. – NASCAR Cup Series final practice

11:30 a.m. – NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying

1:30 p.m. – ARCA Menards Series race (80 laps)

5 p.m. – NASCAR Xfinity Series race (120 laps)

Sunday, February 19

2:30 p.m. – NASCAR Cup Series Daytona 500 (200 laps).
