NASCAR to eliminate stage breaks for Cup Series races on road courses in 2023

Reports were circulating late last year that NASCAR was considering ending stage cautions at road courses in 2023.

Fans will be certainly excited to hear that, according to a report from Bob Pockrass it’s now confirmed that NASCAR will eliminate stage breaks for Cup Series races on road courses.

Stage breaks will not be eliminated in  Xfinity/Truck Series standalone events. They will still have stages, just won’t stop the races at those tracks.

According to NASCAR’s official website the removal of stage cautions at road courses comes following a review of Fan Council Data and industry discussions.
