A.J. Allmendinger had a brutal stint completing Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Immediately after the race Allmendinger tried to coupled with his cooling shirt but that failed to work, forcing him to visit the infield care center following his seventh-place finish.

The 40-year-old fell from P2 to P7 late in the race, then almost collapsed on pit road after departing his car.

What Kyle did in that video was disrespectful’ – Kyle Busch gets called out for ignoring Team Owner Joe Gibbs at Pocono

He ran out of water available to him and cooling features of his racing suit failed. With seasonal heat in the mid-80s and track temperatures well into the 100s, that made it even worse for him.

A.J. Allmendinger wife took to social media via Twitter to share the update on her husband.

“Aj has been released. He cooled down and drank lots of fluids, his cooling system wasn’t working today.”

“He’s in good spirit and will be ok! ❤️ Thank you all for your concern, love and support.”

A.J Allmendinger left the Brickyard feeling better both physically and mentally too.
