Over the weekend at Nashville Superspeedway, Dale Earnhardt Jr cleared the air regarding his own team running in the Cup Series . He even went so far as naming the driver he would start with.
Dale Jr identifies Martin Truex Jr as his ideal Cup driver for JRM reason being is because when Truex Jr. made his first Cup Series debut, it was for Dale Earnhardt Inc.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. thinks that it would be idealistic to see the journey go full circle.

“I was hoping that Martin Truex Jr. would want to come over and help us start our Cup team at JR Motorsports,” he said. “That’s coming full circle. I mean, I helped him get started, so he might as well help us get started.”
“I wish it was that easy. We want to go, we are working our tails off trying to exhaust every opportunity. We want to go Cup racing. JR Motorsports absolutely wants to be in the Cup Series.”
JRM, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s NASCAR is currently a team in the second-tier Xfinity Series, is now seriously glancing at how to make the jump to fielding a car in the top-tier NASCAR Cup Series.
Kelly Earnhardt sister of Dale Jr. and co-owner of JRM revealed this week on Sirius XM NASCAR Radio that JRM might run selected Cup Series races In 2023, however not full-time due to charter barrier issue.
“We’re thinking about it every day, we’re working on it it feels like every other day. We do want to go Cup racing. We believe that that’s a good spot for us,” said Earnhardt Miller.
“We want to stay in the Xfinity Series, too, so you know, what that looks like is certainly up for grabs.”
