Two months ago NASCAR revealed that next year, the organization will be taking a Next Gen stock car to Le Mans, the announcement led to a lot of criticism from drivers and teams owners because only one team was involved Hendrick Motorsport.

Denny Hamlin last month attack on the governing body was because he believed that they were giving an unfair advantage to Hendrick Motorsports.

With HMS being the only team from NASCAR that’s is going to France next year, was not acceptable by David Wilson, the President of Toyota Racing.

“He’ll learn a lot from here” – Kyle Larson comments on Denny Hamlin’s controversial tweet

According to Racer Magazine journalist “David Wilson was “disappointed” not to have a heads up on the NASCAR/Hendrick Le Mans announcement. Wilson says Toyota and Ford have expressed their “concerns and displeasure” about the event. While a fan of the idea, want it to be “fair” in terms of competitor getting track time.”

She went on to further said that NASCAR has promised transparency and visibility whenever the car is on track through testing and the Le Mans event.

NASCAR decision regarding Next Gen car has not gone well with Joe Gibbs Racing No. 11 Denny Hamlin.

Hamlin made it clear that the decision is not right for him, especially since HMS are the most successful team until now in the Next Gen setup.

Finding out through a press conference is not OK,” Hamlin said. “We have too many people in place. NASCAR has too many executives for that to slip through the cracks. Not that that slipped through the cracks, but where is the transparency of it?

“And then, on the other side, there certainly is performance advantages that every team is concerned with. Short of us being allowed to have the same track time, I don’t see any way possible that they will not have an advantage. That’s a team that has already won more races than anybody else this season with the Next Gen. I think from my standpoint the decision was made and they’ll kind of figure out the details later.”

  1. Did other teams apply to go? If anyone is watching Hendrick is moving into other type of racing and that has not been behind anybody’s back. The media has covered Hendrick Motorsport sponsoring Jimmie Johnson, they have sent a team to help out in the pits or crew chief . Stop crying about it and read !
