William Byron has been in the limelight for his ongoing battle with Joey Logano but Kyle Busch has something else to say about the driver.
Logano took Byron out of the race at Darlington Raceway and many of the voices shared has been in favor of Byron. The Hendrick Motorsports driver called out Logano as an “idiot” while Logano felt justified about his move. And many even expect Byron to retaliate in the coming races.
While this battle will probably rage on, Kyle Busch had something else to share about Byron. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver said about his relationship with Byron:
“William and I are still good, wouldn’t say friends but you know we talk. Last week actually we were talking because he is working with and driving some super late model stuff that I used to do, so we chatted about that and we’ve chatted before he’s helped support the bundle of joy fund over the years, him and his dad, his family, his mom as well. So you know they’ve been a great ally to have and working with over the years that I did.”
While Busch seems to be on good terms with Byron, he is still not happy about one thing of the past in particular.
“I still blame him for stealing Rudy Fugle from Kyle Busch Motorsports who’s now his crew chief. So I’m pissed off about that but he’s a good kid so he deserves a chance and he’s making most of that chance right now. He’s doing a good job.”
Busch is reflecting on the time when Rudy Fugle, crew chief for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Truck Series left for Byron’s No. 24 team in the 2021 Cup Series season.
