Rain contributed to Chase Elliott grabbing his first win of the 2022 season, but it has now played its part in the driver not qualifying for the race at Darlington.

Even after a consistent season, Elliott was finding it hard to get the first win, with all of his Hendrick Motorsports teammates grabbing a win before him. The wait was over last week. Most parts of the race at Dover were rescheduled to the next day. This is not to say that Elliott would not have won if the race continued that day, but Elliott must certainly be thankful for the rain because of how the race turned out for him.

However, just a week later, Elliot must be hating the rain as he could not qualify for the Xfinity race at Darlington because the qualifying session was canceled. JR Motorsports tweeted:

“Due to rain, qualifying has been cancelled @TooToughToTame . @chaseelliott and the No. 88 @HendrickCars team will not qualify for tomorrow’s race.”

Many fans were not happy with NASCAR’s decision and made their displeasure clear on Twitter.

Well, Elliott fans there are a lot of races left this season to see your favorite driver.
