As the Busch family welcome their second child into the world, Joe Gibbs Racing chose Trevor Bayne as the standby driver for Kyle Busch to pilot the No.18 ride if called upon.
Last season, Kyle Busch had his worst campaign in eight years, finishing ninth in the Cup Series standings with only a couple of wins. His lowest win total since 2014 when he won just a single time.
It is possible the two time champion will miss Darlington or next week at Kansas for the birth of his new born baby, should wife Samantha go into labor.

I know that with every sport of any kind it’s pretty much “business as usual” but from a personal side it would have been so nice if Kyle could have told us what they were having a boy? or a girl? Maybe that’s just a “woman thing”. If they didn’t know they could have told us that too. At any rate totally very happy for them.
