Denny Hamlin has taken to Twitter to issue an apology to fellow driver Kyle Larson following a post from the Joe Gibbs Racing driver account.
Hamlin made fun at HMS Kyle Larson‘s wrecking his 23Xi drivers in a video at the end of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway.
The wrecked took place when Kyle Larson swerved up the track to throw a block on the final lap, this caused a accident involving both 23XI Racing owned cars of Bubba Wallace and Kurt Busch.
On Monday Denny Hamlin tweeted a clip from ‘Family Guy.’
Hamlin issued an apology to Kyle Larson on Tuesday.
“I took down a post I made earlier today after reading some of the comments,” wrote the triple-Daytona 500 winner.
“It was a poor choice of memes… and it came across totally wrong. I apologise.”
The deleted clip showed Kyle Larson’s name where an Asian driver cuts across multiple lanes of traffic, causing various accidents.
I took down a post I made earlier today after reading some of the comments. It was a poor choice of memes and I saw how it was offensive. It came across totally wrong. I apologize.

23XI co-owner noted he found it funny as he now faces a big repair bill for the damage inflicted on the #23 and #45 rides.
Denny Hamlin apologizes for posting Asian woman driver clip from The Family Guy & comparing her to his good friend Kyle Larson, whose Dega move wrecked both 23XI cars. Larson is of Japanese descent. NASCAR could react (fine, sensitivity training, etc) for the stereotypical meme. https://t.co/4r7dk1KJBt
