Kyle Busch manage to got a lucky past in the final lap of Sunday’s Food City Dirt Race at Bristol.

Busch moved ahead of the Spinning cars of Tyler Reddick and Chase Briscoe to snatch his first Cup Series victory this season.

Tyler Reddick, who led a race-high 99 laps, fought to get his car in gear and back to the start-finish line, he just about made it in time, unfortunately coming up three-tenths of a second short of his first career win.

Briscoe tried to slide his way past Reddick on the inside in the last lap however, that move backfired and both drivers spun out of control and Busch, who was running third got the victory.

“We all look like bunch of bozos” – Kevin Harvick upset with the track prep at Bristol

During the second stage Kyle Busch radio a strong message to the drivers at Bristol on his was to victory lane.

“I am better than every single one of these mother f***ers here, it’s all about lane choice. … I take that back, the 14 is the best car.” Said Kyle Busch

This win now ends a 25-race winless run by the 36-y-o, who now owns nine total Cup wins at the .533-mile track. Kyle Busch also level seven-time Cup champion Richard Petty’s streak of 18 straight seasons with at least one win.

“We got one. Doesn’t matter how you get them. It’s all about getting them,” said Busch, who was greeted by a cascade of boos from the Bristol crowd. “I mean, man, I feel like Dale Earnhardt Sr. right now. This is awesome. I didn’t do anything. he added

“It’s just a testament to our team, Joe Gibbs Racing, Toyota … and it being fast, fast enough to stay in contention, fast enough to see those guys. I don’t know why we couldn’t fire off after it rained, both times. It just would not fire. Took it about 20 laps to get going.

“Overall, just really pumped to be back. Real pumped to get a win. This one means a lot. I can win on any surface here at Bristol. Bring it on, baby.”

The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Talladega Superspeedway next week for the second of four superspeedway events on the calendar this season.

  1. Look at the crowd and you can judge the success. This used to be the hardest ticket in racing!!!!

    1. Aronhalt Ronnie

You are also the biggest cry baby out there also
If you dont win you just batch and blame everyone but yourself

  2. Unfortunately Kyle is a cocky, arrogant, spoiled brat who THINKS he’s entitled to win every time he’s on the track. Sorry. I never have been so disgusted with a racer as I am right now. In his words a win is a win no matter how you get it. So, remember that the next time someone other than you wins a rain shortened race.
