After serving as an analyst for the Fox Booth for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas, Tony Stewart will be replaced by Chad Knaus for the coming race.
This season, four-time champion Jeff Gordon vacated the seat in the Fox Booth along with lead announcer Mike Joy and analyst Clint Bowyer. Since then, they don’t have a permanent replacement but have used different NASCAR personnel. Stewart himself has already has been used there a couple of times. In fact, he was the first person to do so, during the unofficial season-opening Busch Light Clash exhibition race at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum back in early February.
Since then, the Stewart-Haas Racing owner came back in the booth for the official season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway and the last Sunday’s race.

Other personnel to have featured in the booth are 2003 champion Matt Kenseth for the race at Auto Club Speedway and Danica Patrick for the races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway. Atlanta Motor Speedway saw the return of Gordon for the role.
Stewart might return for future races but for now, his position will be taken by seven-time champion crew chief Chad Knaus, who is also the Vice President of Competition at Hendrick Motorsports. Knaus will not just be for the race at Richmond Raceway but also the race at Martinsville Speedway. It will make Knaus the fifth person to join Joy and Bower in the booth for this season.
