Earlier this week Camping World Truck Series team On Point Motorsports shared some saddening news to the NASCAR community.
On Point Motorsports who fields a No.30 Toyota Tundra in the NASCAR Truck Series shared detail of their owner, James Whitener passing.
The 58-y-o had stepped away from Motorsports in 2018 after being diagnosed with liver failure. however the cause of his death is not yet comfirmed.

James team, On Point Motorsports, tweeted via Twitter of the news of his passing. “We are deeply saddened to learn, former Nascar team owner, James Whitener has passed away. On behalf of everyone at On Point Motorsports, we send our deepest sympathies to James’ family & friends. Please know that we will keep him in our thoughts and prayers,” the team account wrote.
“We will never forget James nor how much he meant to our team. We wouldn’t be where we are today had he not been a major part of Nascar in the past and for that, we are extremely grateful. James will truly be missed but never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.”
