Thursday morning NASCAR announced massive penalties issued against Brad Keselowski and his new race team RFK Racing for illegally modifying a supplied part on the Next Gen car.

Keselowski was docked 100 driver points and the No. 6 Ford team docked 100 owner points.

Matt McCall RFK Crew chief also was fined $100,000 and suspended from the next four Cup Series races.

According to Bob Pockrass sources he’s spoken to informed him that the issue on Brad Keselowski car had to do with the body at the rear of the car.

Brad Keselowski will drop from 16th in the Cup points standings to 35th behind Garrett Smithley. The 38-y-o now has 22 Cup Series points this season.
