Hendrick Motorsports drivers Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson made contact at Fontana from which Elliott came off worse of the two while the defending  Cup Series champion Larson went on to win the race.

With just under 20 laps remaining in the Wise Power 400 at Auto Club Speedway, Kyle Larson was battling with Team Penske Joey Logano when Chase Elliott came riding up the outside.

Larson swiftly shifted to his right hitting teammate Elliott, sending his No.9 car into the wall and knocking him out of contention. Later in the race, the 2020 champion spun out.

Following a week of reports & rumors of feud between then two , Kyle Larson has cleared the uncertainty over his relationship with his HMS teammate in an  Post-Race interview after finishing P2 in the Las Vegas race qualifying.

Kyle Larson met with teammate Chase Elliott Saturday in Las Vegas.

“It was good to have a conversation and good to hopefully move along from it. It went well. Honestly, better than I anticipated. He’s a good teammate and I’m going to do my part to be a great teammate each and every week, and hopefully, we never have any instances happen like what happened last week,” Kyle Larson said.

“I felt like he was (understanding),” Larson said. “I was encouraged by that. Like I said, he’s always been a great teammate. And we’re both young; we’re both going to be fighting for wins together. Hopefully, nothing like that happens again.”

According to FOX Sports NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass its believed that Chase Elliott appreciated the apology from his fellow teammate Kyle Larson.

“(He) just kind of reiterated his expectations with us drivers,” Larson said. “It’s good to get those reminders every now and then and continue to race good in the future with each other.”

“He’s been to competition meetings, stuff like that, and we’ve had multiple meetings about different things, but as far as racing stuff, that’s the first one I can remember him getting involved in,” said Larson. “I think we all know his expectation, and after the incident last week, it was good for him to get involved again and tell us what the expectations are.”
