Jeff Gordon will be taking on a new role at Hendrick Motorsports for which he will have to give up his old role with Fox.

Four-time NASCAR Champion, and NASCAR Hall of Famer, Gordon will officially be the Vice Chairman of Hendrick Motorsports from January 2022. This will bring an end to his six-year association with Fox in a broadcast role.

Gordon has previously asserted that he enjoyed working with Fox. At the NASCAR Awards ceremony in Nashville, Gordon again spoke about his experience with Fox and what he will miss as he takes on the new role at HMS.

“Life is good, I’m enjoying getting myself into this new role. I’m going to miss TV next year, I really enjoyed, especially this year. Working with Clint Bowyer was a lot of fun, but I love being part of the competition. Part of a team that built my career.”

With Gordon’s new role, he will only be below the organization’s owner Rick Hendrick in terms of ranking, where he will be tasked with building up the team’s competition and marketing groups.

Having spent his entire NASCAR career behind the No. 24 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, Gordon amassed 93 wins, 325 top-five, 477 top-10 finishes with the team. He was inducted into the 2019 NASCAR Hall of Fame.
