It seems only a matter of time that Chase Elliott will pen a contract extension with Hendrick Motorsports.
Well, there is no doubting to it that Elliott would continue with Hendrick Motorsports. He won the 2020 championship with them and given the dominance that HMS exerted in the 2021 season, there is no better team to be right now in the Cup Series.
Elliott’s current deal runs until the 2022 season and it could be a concern for some as he will be entering his contract year this February, the contract which he signed back in 2017.
But there has been an indication that HMS is looking to extend his contract. One of such is Hooters signing a contract extension until 2024 to sponsor Elliott’s No. 9 car.

However, the concrete information comes from the HMS owner, Rick Hendrick, who said to Bob Pockrass that after the Hooters extension, Elliott’s contract extension is on their agenda.
Hendrick Motorsports earlier today announced a three-year extension of the Hooters deal to sponsor Chase Elliott through 2024. I asked Rick Hendrick if that means he has signed Chase Elliott to an extension (Elliott’s deal runs through 2022). Hendrick: “That’s the plan.”

Elliott recently won the Most Popular Driver Award for his fourth consecutive year. He is growing into a complete driver every year that culminated in the 2020 championship.
This season, he was not at his peak but he did manage to have a good season and raced in the championship four. He will only get better with time and HMS would hate to lose him. Besides, how can one imagine Elliott without HMS, right?
