Kyle Larson is enjoying a very dominant season in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series and is considered a favorite to win the championship.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver was a sort of a forgotten man last season due to his suspension from the Cup racing through most of the last season. He showed the potential to be an excellent racer but that was never realized in Chip Ganassi Racing. However, with the equipment he has with HMS, Larson is showing his true value in racing.
This season he has nine wins and 19 top-five finishes, matching the most number of wins for a driver from last season. Additionally, he is yet to race in two more races this season and is considered a genuine contender to win the championship. In fact, after two races in the Round of 8, only he has booked a spot for the final four races.

He won at Texas Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway in the Round of 8. But not only that, but he also won the third race of Round of 12 at Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course.
Riding high on three consecutive wins, Larson will write his name on the history books to become the driver with four consecutive wins at Martinsville Speedway. If he is able to achieve the feat, he will be the first driver since 2017 when Jimmie Johnson achieved the feat. Johnson went on to win the championship that season. Larson will be looking to do the same.
