Despite quitting full-time NASCAR Racing, Dale Earnhardt Jr. remains a very popular figure in the industry.

Whether it is his analysis on NBC or interviewing drivers, Earnhardt Jr. is a very active figure in NASCAR. Recently, he took laps in the NASCAR Next Gen car that is set to debut in the 2022 season.

“It just does everything better” – Dale Jr. and Tony Stewart’s assessment of the Next Gen car

In a recent podcast episode, Dale Jr announced that he will be racing at the Martinsville Speedway for the upcoming season. He also spoke about the tracks that he love to race on.

“I love short tracks. People ask me all the time, ‘what was your favorite track! Aww man! I thought you’d say Talladega’.

“I either say Martinsville or Bristol. Given the kind of car that I have, Martinsville is a blast, but Bristol is equally as fun, depending on how the car is driving. I’ve had some tough days at Martinsville when the car wasn’t exactly there. When it gets down to it, what type of racing do I love to do, its short track racing.”

Earnhardt Jr. has kept the custom of returning for a race in the Xfinity Series for one race every season after retiring from Cup Series competition in 2017. Now the trend is set to continue for one more year at least. His most recent Xfinity win came at Richmond Raceway in April 2014.
