NASCAR has made it clear that they want the ongoing feud between Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott to stop.
The rivalry started back at the Cup playoffs at Bristol Motor Speedway, where Harvick blamed Elliott for costing him the win. After the race, the two drivers came together for a heated argument.
The feud was only beginning at that point and got translated again in the field during the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. However, for Harvick, he came out on the losing side as the driver with the most race wins in the past season failed to qualify for the next round of playoffs but Elliot did.
“That’s something that is concerning” – Logano the latest driver to raise concern about the Next Gen car
However, this fight is about to come to an end as NASCAR has warned the team of serious consequences if the feud is continued again in the upcoming are at Texas.
Alan Gustafson, Elliott’s crew chief, shed light on the conversation NASCAR held with both the drivers, their crew chiefs, car owners and manufacturer representatives.
“The message that NASCAR has delivered is they tried to do the best job they could do in allowing it to happen and they’re over it,” Gustafson said on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. “I commend them for allowing us to race, but I think they’ve had enough. They made that pretty clear.”
Harvick has nothing to lose in the upcoming races but Elliott is still fighting to be in the Championship 4 and win his second title. Continuing such a feud will only make the playoffs unprofessional.
Hopefully, both the drivers are over with the situation when the flag turns green at Texas Motor Speedway.
