As a Las Vegas native, the race is already an important one for Kyle Busch. However, this is not the only reason that the upcoming Cup playoffs race at Last Vegas is a crucial one for the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 driver.
Since it is the first race of the playoffs, a good race and set the tone for the further two races in the second round of the 2021 Cup Series playoffs. Busch even asserted that any crew chiefs would consider this the race that needs the most focus.
“I think everybody goes into Vegas putting the amount of pressure on themselves to make sure they do run good in that event because they know what the next two race have in store for them. So, if you asked any crew chief what race are you most focused on in that round. They would tell you Vegas, to try and run good there and have a good race.”

Compared to last season, Busch is in a considerably better position. He was eliminated from the Round of 12, making him the first reigning champ in the elimination era to not advance out of the Round of 12.
He is better positioned to make it beyond that stage this season, currently sitting in 5th position with 3022 points. But scenarios can change quite quickly with a bad race. So a good race at Las Vegas will only serve his cause of adding a third Cup championship to his collection.
