Kurt Busch was disappointed with the early exit from the playoffs and would run races dignity for the remaining races.
Having sold its NASCAR charter, this was the last season for Chip Ganassi Racing to win the championship. However, they are out of the championship picture in the first round of the playoffs. His elimination came as a result of finishing only as high as 14th in the three races.
“Really disappointing effort today,” Busch said after Bristol race. “That was not a championship-type effort. We missed it big time.”

He went to the race at Bristol occupying the last position in the cut off, with equal points to Alex Bowman but holding a tiebreaker. However, after failing to secure any points in the two stages meant that he missed out on the next round.
“We had bad luck last week, and we have no shot at a championship this year,” he said. “We have to race for pride, dignity, and honor for the next few weeks. The team is shutting down, and we’re eliminated early. That’s not the way we wanted this to go.
“Maybe we can crawl our way back up to a fifth to 10th range in points. But tonight was not a night to miss the setup.”
He will begin a new journey with 23XI Racing next season.
