Chase Elliott has complete trust in his and the No. 9 team’s ability to get him through the different rounds of the playoffs.
Having won the Cup Series championship the last season as an underdog, Elliott began this season as a favourite to win it again. He had a good regular season with two wins but it was his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson that stole the limelight in the regular season.
Nonetheless, Elliott was not the main contender to win the championship last season either with Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin dominating much of the season. However, he peaked as the playoffs progress en route to the title.

So, Elliott is not looking to do something different but rather trust the process that has won him accolades until now.
“It’s just focusing on the things that we do well and putting in a good fight all the way through each race and each round. I don’t feel like you reinvent the wheel just try to do what we do to the best of our ability. We’re ready to go, we’re ready to race and having the support of our fans and sponsors, like Kelley Blue Book, gives us extra motivation.
“It adds that excitement to going to the track, with something to be gained or loss. That’s why I enjoy it, and that’s why these final races are exciting.”
Elliott currently sits seventh in the Cup Series Playoffs standings with 2072 points. After a 31st place finishes in the first race of the playoffs at Darlington, Elliott bounced back to a fourth-place finish in Richmond.
