Dale Earnhardt Jr. is keeping the trend of running one Xfinity race per year by racing at Richmond Raceway this Saturday.
Earnhardt Jr. retired from full-time Cup racing back in 2017. Since then, he has appeared in one Xfinity race per season. And this will be the fourth consecutive year that he has done so.
Not only that, but in those appearances, he has also recorded top-five finishes. He will be looking to keep up the record or, more so, even win the race at Richmond. But this time, he will be starting from the 30th position, his worst starting position for any of the one-off events.

In a JR Motorsports team release, Earnhardt said:
“I know that Taylor (Moyer, crew chief) and the entire No. 8 team will unload a fast Camaro and hopefully we’ll have a shot at it towards the end of the race.”
Earnhardt Jr.’s last win in the Xfinity series came back in 2016 at Richmond. The track is one of Earnhardt’s best as he has seven wins in the track, three in the Cup Series and four in the Xfinity series. In total, he has 24 wins in the Xfinity series.
