With 23XI Racing set to become a tw0-car team from the 2022 season, the sale of StarCom Racing’s Cup Series Charter could be a major boost for them.
A number of teams are searching for a new charter along with 23XI Racing. The team made its Cup debut this season and is looking to expand to a two-car team. The team has already signed veteran driver Kurt Busch but without finding a charter.
So, the sale of StarCom Racing’s Cup Series Charter could be a blessing for them if they can swoop the deal before their competitors, which includes Spire Motorsports.
“We know where the problem lies” – Harvick focusing on the playoffs
So, it seems that the fight for the charter could be between 23XI Racing and Spire Motorsports. The latter team had three charters but they sold two of them to Kaulig Racing for the 2022 Cup season.
23XI Racing didn’t have a season they expected when they announced the team. Bubba Wallace could not get the team into the playoffs. He finished the regular season 21st in the ranking. His best finish with the team came at the regular-season finale at Daytona International Speedway.
As for their new driver, Kurt Busch, he will bring not only experience but a winning mentality to the team. Courtesy of his one win, he is set to head to the playoffs with 2008 points.
