While Kyle Larson might have the bragging rights in the Cup Series this season, Denny Hamlin got one over his Cup rival in a golf course.
Larson is undoubtedly the best driver in the Cup Series this season. He has five Cup race wins, 14 top-5 finishes and 18 top-10 finishes to show for it. But Hamlin is not far behind in terms of performance. While the No. 11 Toyota driver for Joe Gibbs Racing might not have won a Cup race yet this season, he has been a consistent performer this season.
“We definitely have a problem in our organization” – Tony Stewart reflects on poor season for SHR
He has 13 top-five finishes and 17 top-10 finishes this season. The fact that he was leading the NASCAR Cup Standings until a few races ago is a testament to his consistency.
While Hamlin might be behind Larson in many terms in the Cup Series, he won the “best driver” Larson in golf by 500 yards. Hamlin tweeted:
If we’re talking about the best driver, he lost by 500 yards today. @KyleLarsonRacin pic.twitter.com/IuRlyZpCBA

Hamlin may yet get a win over Larson by claiming the regular-season championship in the final race of the regular season at Daytona International Speedway. He trails Larson by 28 points.
