Bubba Wallace is still vying for the first win of his career and a playoff spot in his first season with 23XI Racing.

There were a lot of expectations for Wallace when he left Richard Petty Motorsports for the new Cup Series team owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin. The target was to start winning from their very first season but given that Wallace is still vying for a playoff spot with just one race remaining, it seems that the season has been a disappointment for the team.

Wallace himself admitted that the season has not gone as expected.

“We all want to win, of course. That’s why we’re here,” Wallace said. “That’s why we show up every week, is to win. But there’s been a lot of things in our control and out of our control that have taken us out of having really good finishes. Have we had a winning car this year yet? No. Maybe for Daytona, yes, but other than that, we’ve had some top-5 moments. We’ve had a lot more top-10 moments than we’ve shown on paper, but it’s just been the new-team blues.”

“You can’t go racing just like that” – Joey Logano reflects on COVID-19 Protocols

Now, Wallace will head to the final race of the regular season at Daytona International Speedway, knowing that only a win will take him to the playoffs.

With just one top-10 and top-five finish recorded this season, Wallace’s performance has nowhere been near the winning team that 23XI Racing wanted to create.  He will have a lot to improve on for the next season.

How do the NASCAR standings look like going to the regular-season finale as drivers fight for the last playoff spot?

    1. You need to hope Michael lets you race full time in the Xfinity series next year and maybe Kurt will let you come and watch him race from the pits.
