Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart got involved in a heated exchange back in 2000 at Watkins Glen.
Both the drivers were battling in the field on a number of occasions and one incident led to Gordon touching inside of Stewart’s car. They came in contact again in the next corner, as a result of which Gordon’s car hit the wall.

Gordon didn’t like the way Stewart approached the race and after the race was over, he yelled at Stewart:
“I’ll slam you straight in the wall, next time you are anywhere near me.”

Gordon said that he had a clean pass on Stewart. What irked him more was that the incident happened on the second lap and he could only finish as high as 23rd due to the clash with Stewart, ending hopes for claiming his seventh consecutive Cup Series win on a road course. As for Stewart, he finished 6th.
