In his contract year with Chip Ganassi Racing, Kurt Busch will have to find a new ride for him for the 2022 Cup Series season.

The two-year contract extension that he signed will end after the 2021 season. that he signed in It is not that Chip Ganassi Racing is not extending his contract but rather the team is selling its charter to Trackhouse Racing. So, it is for certain that the No. 1 Chevrolet driver will have to find a new team.

It could as well be that he will return to the Cup fold with Trackhouse Racing. As they are set to expand to a two-car team, there is a spot left for them to fill. It turns out that the team has reached out to Busch to fill the spot already.

Busch could also have opportunities in the team 23XI Racing, which is a one-car team for now, with Bubba Wallace as their driver. But with the ambition to expand and the intention to sign a veteran driver, Busch might have a new home there.

At the age of 41, Busch might even ponder retiring from full-time Cup racing after the 2021 season. But having won a Cup series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway this season, it shows that the veteran still has things to offer for his new team.
