Ryan Newman is now a free agent, looking for 2022 ride

Ryan Newman will be a free agent heading into the 2022 season with Brad Keselowski taking over the No. 6 ride, the future for Newman is currently unknown.

Newman’s deal with Roush Fenway Racing is set to expires at the end of 2021, however team-mate Chris Buescher is still locked into his #17  ride for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series campaign.

Roush Fenway Racing has reached agreement with Brad Keselowski to become driver/owner

Roush Fenway Racing has fielded two rides for both Ryan Newman No.6 and Chris Buescher  No.17 over the past two seasons. The addition of Brad Keselowski helps position the company for the future and NASCAR’s new Cup Series car set to be introduced next season.

“I am thrilled to be able to share the news about this next venture with my fans, peers, and the industry,” Keselowski said in a team statement. “This presents an opportunity to continue my on-track success with a strong team and a long-term commitment, but also dive into my passion of team ownership where I know I can be an asset to the future of the team. I am optimistic about what Jack, John and I can accomplish togetherespecially with a new era for our sport on the horizon [with the Next Gen car]. Our goal is to win races and compete for championships at NASCAR’s top level, and we plan to do just that.”
