Kyle Larson has been a revelation to the Hendrick Motorsports team since signing for them before the 2021 Cup Series season.
His recent win at Sonoma Raceway was his second consecutive win and his third in total. He became the first driver to win consecutive races in the 2021 Cup Series season and he also has the highest number of wins now.
If not for some bad luck and poor decision, he would have more wins to his collection already this season. He is only behind Denny Hamlin in the series standings.
NASCAR to slow cars down at Talladega and Daytona
Riding high on a superb form, Larson reveals what is so important for him in sports. Speaking to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, he said:
“It’s been fun, I’ve been able to win a couple of sprint car and Outlaw races last couple of weeks. This is always a fun time of year for me because the summer months have a lot of mid-week races.
“If you can get into a bit of a rhythm and build some momentum like I have. You definitely build your confidence quickly. Its not easy to stay up top or on top of your game. Confidence is so important in our sport.”
Next up for Larson is NASCAR All-Star Race at the Texas Motor Speedway. Given his form right now, he will go to the race as a favourite to win it.
