Hendrick Motorsports was celebrating again on Sunday as the NASCAR “Superstar” team finished 1-2 with driver No. 5 Kyle Larson and No. 9 Chase Elliott at Sonoma Raceway.
The victory on Sunday for HMS was their fourth straight 1-2 finish and Cup Series triumph. Hendrick Motorsports has now won seven times in 16 races, taking owner Rick Hendrick to first place on the all-time wins list in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Ahead of the race at Sonoma, Alex Bowman’s crew chief, Greg Ives, admitted that he wasn’t too pleased with the result.
Bowman did mentioned the rising rivalry between drivers within HMS. However, he stated that the rivalry is nothing but friendly. It also helps that all four HMS drivers have racked up a win each.
