NASCAR Next Gen Car that is set to make its debut in the 2022 season made its first public appearance on Wednesday.
The series was set to make its debut in the 2021 season but was posponed by a year due to the effects of the pandemic. Logano was one of the drivers to help unveil the new cars, ahead of the Cup Series race at Darlington on Sunday, he spoke about the Next Gen cars and gave his thoughts about the competition for next season.
Joey Logano warned that it has come to a point where if a driver does not win, he cannot blame the car this time around.
“Crashing it will, without a doubt, cost more ” – Denny Hamlin’s perspective on Next Gen car
“It will actually bring the racing closer on the race track…If you’re not winning you can’t say it’s the car. You know, you can’t say you’re getting beat with the parts and pieces,” Logano said.
“You have to ask the questions, ‘what do we want to race?’ Parts and pieces that were building a little lighter, a little stronger than the next guy’s. Or do you want to race a car set up on the race track. Think about what we’re spending building only one part, its a little bit ridiculous.”

As Logano prepares for Darlington race, he’ll be hoping to be the 11th winner. Admittedly, he does not have a particularly great track record at Darlington.
I hope they don’t rip the owners off with the new chassis. You should be able to make a jig and mass produce them cheaper than one offs. But I’m sure they will chose to rip them off.
Great….manufacturer neutral cars….sounds about right..
