Former NASCAR driver Eric McClure, who competed in 291 National Series events between the years 2003 and 2016, has died on Sunday at the age of 42.
McClure’s partner Keira Brinegar Tibbs shared the incredibly devastating news via a Facebook post on Sunday morning.
No information were given about his death. Eric McClure had posted on social media as recently as yesterday’s (Saturday) may 1.
The Washington County sheriff’s office stated that McClure’s body was sent to Roanoke for an autopsy.

“We are saddened to learn of the passing of former driver and (team) owner Eric McClure. NASCAR extends its deepest condolences to Eric’s family and friends,” NASCAR said in a statement.

McClure leaves behind seven daughters from his previous marriage, and he was even seen in a Facebook video on Saturday playing around with his partner (Keira Brinegar Tibbs) daughter.
NASCAR released a statement via their Twitter expressing their sympathy for McClure’s family and friends.
