Hendrick Motorsports’s No. 24 driver William Byron believes that getting a win will make him and his team hard to ignore.
Byron might not be getting the attention that he should get for being one of the most consistent drivers in the 2021 Cup Series season. But that will change if he gets his second win of the season.
“As soon as we win another race — hopefully soon — you guys will be forced to talk about us, and the competition will be forced to deal with us,”
“I think we’re running well,” Byron continued. “We’re in the mix every week. I feel like the competition around us probably knows that and understands that. So, I think it’s just a matter of continuing to execute and put ourselves in position to make ourselves have a chance at winning more races.
“Honestly, I don’t focus much on the other people we are racing against. I just focus on doing what we can to try to win. We’re doing that every week so far.”
Byron has eight consecutive top-eight finishes now in the 10 races so far this season, which ties him with series points leader Denny Hamlin for the most top-10 finishes. While he might be fourth in the standings, he has already secured a playoff spot courtesy of his win Homestead-Miami Speedway in February.
