A contact with Denny Hamlin sent Kurt Busch into the wall making the No. 1 Chevrolet driver frustrated for the action.

In the second stage of the Cup Series race at Atalanta Motor Speedway, after the caution ended, Busch was sent to the wall due to contact with Hamlin.

He was very frustrated after the race for the incident and said after the race:

“The #18 was the outside lead car, the #9 kind of checked up too, I checked up. The #17 hit us from behind, it’s just the accordion effect, and then I jump to the middle. I’m here, I position myself, rearranged my lanes and made another block.

“Dude, it’s a 500-miler. These are the days that hurt the worst. This absolutely hurts the worst….I’m pretty pissed off. It’s a restart, where are we gonna go man, chill.”

He also said that the contact with the Joe Gibbs Racing driver was not accidental but rather deliberate. While Hamlin finished fourth in the race, Busch finished last as he was not able to race after the incident.

Hamlin, in the meanwhile, leads the championship standings despite not winning any race yet in the 2021 Cup Series season.
