Kyle Larson compared Tyler Reddick to himself for the aggressive nature of driving of both the drivers.
Larson and Reddick are two drivers who have a lot of things in common. Both drivers have progressed through short tracks, dirt tracks and late models racing and are former Xfinity Series ‘Rookie of the Year’ winners.
Not only that, Larson believes that their driving style is similar too. Speaking in praise of Reddick ahead of the race at Homestead, Larson said:
“Our aggressive driving style definitely tends to suit running against the wall. So, it was always fun watching him at Homestead, he was always the most exciting guy to watch in the Xfinity and then the Cup race last year.”
“I feel like when I’m watching him, I feel like I’m watching myself ‘cause he’s really aggressive.”
“He runs really hard and really close to the wall. But not only that, just his moves trying to pass people and stuff, he doesn’t ever try to waste any time. He likes to get there and get it done quick, and I feel like that’s how I am.”
Reddick is junior to Larson in terms of age and experience and has a long way to go in terms of matching Larson’s feats but he is moving in the right direction. The 2020 season was Reddick’s only year as a full-time Cup driver and he will be looking to improve on his 19th place finish in the final standings from the last year.
