2020 Cup Series champion Chase Elliott is most interested in the dirt race Bristol Motor Speedway for the 2021 season.
For the first time in 50 years, NASCAR will be heading to the race track on a dirt surface. It will be held on March 28, 2021, at Bristol Motor Speedway. The No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports driver is very enthusiastic regarding the prospect of dirt racing in the Cup Series. Speaking about the race, he said:
“The one that’s the most interesting to me is the Bristol dirt race. We’ve all seen road courses and that’s a big topic.
“We’ve seen a road course race before, but we haven’t seen a Cup race on dirt. Especially a dirt race that’s that long. I felt like Eldora was a shorter event and a little different, so I’m just curious how the logistics are going to work.”
Elliott said that he expects NASCAR to not installing windshields or fenders on the dirt cars. The weather will also play a major part in how the race will turn out to be.
Given that it will be a new experience for the drivers and fans alike, the race at Bristol holds the prospect of becoming one of the most exciting races of the 2021 Cup Series Season.
