Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson spoke about his racing plans and schedule for 2021 with Flo Racing.
When Larson was suspended by NASCAR back in April, he participated in a number of dirt races, winning a lot of them. Recently, he won the Chili Bowl Nationals, further highlighting his credentials for dirt racing.
But now he will be set to return to the Cup Series after signing for Hendrick Motorsports for the No. 5 Chevrolet. With a tight NASCAR schedule, it might be difficult for Larson to participate in a lot of dirt races.

Given HMS owner Rick Hendrick’s acceptance to let Chase Elliott run dirt races after the 2020 season, Larson is optimistic that he will be participating in some races in 2021. He said:
“I understand, with Rick Hendrick’s past and not really allowing drivers to run dirt. It seems they’ve changed a little, Chase Elliott will be racing some this year.”
Larson stated that he is looking to participate in at least 20 Late Model races this year but also added that most of the schedule will be taken by Sprint cars, besides NASCAR.
As for now, Larson would have to prioritize Cup races as the 2021 season is approaching fast.
