Hailie Deegan is set to drive the No. 1 truck for the David Gilliland Racing team in the 2021 NASCAR Truck Series season.
The 19-year-old driver made her Truck Series debut last season for DGR-Crosley at Kansas where she drove the No. 17 Ford. She finished the race in 16th position which was the best result in Truck Series history for a female driver in a series debut. That was her only race in the Truck Series for the 2020 season.

Having had a good record in the ARCA Menards Series, expectations will be high for the young driver to perform in the Truck series. However, her new team might want to ease her into their Truck career and build upon her rookie season in the series.

Great opportunity 🏁
I can’t wait for this truck season to start….
I wish my father would have been here to see her race he always wanted to see a female do good in NASCAR…
When I watch the Youtube videos of her racing and winning in the now ARCA Menards series it’s a bit Bittersweet and it also tears me up when I think of my dad he would have loved to watch her race
