Brad Keselowski has helped a number of drivers with his Camping World Truck Series team, Brad Keselowski Racing.
Many drivers have climbed the latter to NASCAR Cup Series by beginning their career with Keselowski’s team. Three drivers who came from the team can compete for the Cup Series in the 2021 season. Two of the drivers who can do so are Chase Briscoe and Ryan Blaney.
Briscoe will take the seat of No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing in the upcoming season, after graduating from the Xfinity series.
“It’s been pretty incredible to see how many incredible drivers came from BKR and have success in all of the series,” Briscoe said. “Definitely has a good eye for talent. Glad to be one of the guys that got to drive for Brad because it’s certainly an impressive list.”
While Briscoe might just be at the beginning of his Cup career, but Blaney already has a couple of years in the NASCAR top tier. In fact, he is even Keselowski’s teammate in Team Penske.
“You never forget those people who give you shots – out of nowhere. We were just running for a small team at the time,” Blaney said.
“Brad was very generous enough to give us an opportunity, and we were just really fortunate it worked out. … I still look at him as a mentor and a teammate now – and a friend.”
Unfortunately, BKR had to close down in 2017 due to financial reasons. Who knows how many opportunities it would have given to aspiring drivers wanting to become NASCAR’s top tier drivers just like Briscoe and Blaney.
