Austin Cindric had to pull off a stunning overtime last-lap pass en route to win the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship.
The final race of the season went into overtime and restarted with three laps to go. Justin Allgaier led the field along with Ross Chastain and Austin Cindric behind.
On the final lap of the race, Cindric trailed Gragson and he would have won the championship by even finishing second. However, on the final corner, Cindric took the lead and won his first Xfinityh Championship.
Speaking after the race, the new champion said:
“There was a lot of work put into this race car.
“I’m speechless, I can’t believe it. You know the equipment you’re in is the best of the best and the people you’re working with are the best of the best.”
