Chase Elliott said that he would not have been able to win at Martinsville Speedway if the jackman didn’t correct his errors.
Elliott booked his place in the Championship 4 for the first time in his career by winning the last race of the Round of 8 at Martinsville. But the win didn’t come as easy as one of the actions of Elliott’s crew could have resulted in a penalty for the No. 9 team.
This might have saved Chase Elliott's season.

A jackman arrived at the pit box too early but was quick to go back to his station immediately. In doing so, he spared any penalty for the No. 9 team.

Speaking about the incident, Elliott said:
“TJ [the jack man] made a mistake and he was heads up enough to go back and fix it. If he hadn’t done that, I don’t think we would have been able to win.”
