After his win at Martinsville Speedway, Chase Elliott claimed that the victory is the biggest win for the No. 9 team.

Elliott was chasing a place in the Championship 4 for the first time in his NASCAR Cup career. He managed to book his spot in style by winning the penultimate race of the 2020 season at Martinsville.

Regarding the win, Elliott said:

“I think it’s huge for me personally, I think it’s huge for our team as a whole. Each and every person that tries and puts the time and efforts, to make our program work.”

“We proved to ourselves that we could do it. I think we have always believed we could do it. But to go out there and achieve it is certainly something that we haven’t experienced yet as a group.”

Elliott became the second driver to qualify for the Championship 4 with a win along with Joey Logano. He will be competing with Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski for his first Championship.

The No. 9 driver was delighted to have found the missing element to his race with the win.

“Biggest win ever for us, just so proud. To be able to be backed in the corner like that and have to win tonight.”

“That’s what we’ve been missing these past four to five years. To perform when we don’t have a choice.”
