Coming at the back of a playoff win at Charlotte Roval, Chase Elliott believes that the team’s approach is good enough to be a title contender.

Elliott is looking to make his first appearances in the Championship 4 in his NASCAR Cup career. The No. 9 Chevrolet driver has failed to qualify for the last race in all the seasons so far.

However, Elliott feels that the approach the team has had this season is good enough to make them title contenders. He said:

“We’re just trying to build on what we have. Get better and not try to recreate or re-do things or do things different. I think our approach is plenty good enough to compete and be a contender.”

Nonetheless, Elliott knows that there are certain areas that the team has to improve to give consistent performances.

“There’s been certain tracks over the years that have stood out consistently year after year. That have kept us from good runs, and places that we kinda are not the most excited about going to,” Elliott said.

“We just have to improve in certain areas. I think inconsistency has been a problem. We want to be able to win races, but we want to be able to win races everywhere.”
