Chase Elliott plays down Jeff Gordon as he matched the legendary driver with his four consecutive road course victories.
Elliott secured his fourth consecutive road course victory in the last round of 12 playoff race at Charlotte Roval. The No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet driver has proved his capability on road courses which drew comparisons with Gordon as the legendry driver was an excellent driver on road course himself.
However, in addition to his road course dominance, Gordon is also a four-time champion. Elliott, on the other hand, is yet to make his Championship four appearance.
"We don't remember him for his four road course victories in a row."

Speaking about the comparison, Elliott said:
“We all respect his career beyond just that. Jeff [Gordon] is a 4-time champion, We don’t remember him for his four road course victories in a row. Although it was great, being a champion and trying to have the next level of success that he had, is a goal.”
Elliott is well poised to make his first Championship 4 appearance and even win the race this season.
