Hendrick Motorsports announced that Alex Bowman will take over the soon-to-be-vacant No. 48 Chevrolet seat for the next season.

Johnson is set to retire from full-time Cup racing at the end of the 2020 season. There was a lot of speculation as to who will replace him in the No. 48 Chevrolet. Speaking about the decision, the seven-time winner said:

“He really has earned the opportunity to drive the 48 car. I believe he’s gonna do an amazing job behind the wheel,”
